JST Seminar: Introducing IPI and TechInnovation

The S&TDC cordially invites you to a seminar hosted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) on Monday February 13th from 3.30pm to 5.30pm (see below the agenda and venue details). This event is part of a series where we wish to explore together global issues and exchange opinions so as to identify ways to cooperate through and beyond the S&TDC. Please note that the number of seats is limited, we will register your interest on a first come first serve basis.

Introduction of IPI and its flagship event, TechInnovation:
IPI is Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry Intellectual Property Intermediary. It focuses on the industry needs and translates innovation objectives into specific technology requirements to enable enterprises to develop new processes, products and services. A representative will give an overview of the agency and TechInnovation, IPI’s flagship event 

Round table introduction of meeting participants:
Brief introduction by the participants and discussion on collaboration opportunities S&TDC / IPI in the frame of TechInnovation

Introduction of JST funding activities in the ASEAN region (SATREPS):
Since its opening in Singapore in 2009, JST has been involved in a variety of regional funding schemes. JST will provide a briefing on its regional activities and in particular, on its international collaborative research program for developing countries called  “SATREPS”, the acronym for Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development

Case Study: Biodiversity and Environmental destruction
JST will present a case study on Biodiversity and Environmental destruction before leading an open discussion
